Produced by Noah Georgeson (Joanna Newsom, Devendra Banhart) and recorded in Los Angeles, the album marks a profound return to the acoustic folk music Mason began writing as a teenager. After a decade of exploring psychedelic pop and electronic textures with her project Sis, Mason has turned back to the acoustic guitar to explore themes of spirituality, motherhood, and earthly existence. “Rungs of Love” beautifully traces the fragile ladder between romantic human relationships and divine devotion. Recorded live as an ensemble, the album breathes with pastoral 1970s British folk warmth, offering a deeply personal, straightforward, and emotionally resonant collection of songs.
