The DIY duo kamikaze has released their fifth single, “Drown,” offering a haunting preview of their upcoming debut album, The End. Based in Cologne and Düsseldorf, Jessi and Flo continue to define their self-titled “soft riot pop” genre—a sonic tug-of-war between rebellious punk energy and dreamy melancholy.
“Drown” explores the blurred lines between intense attraction and self-abandonment. The track captures the claustrophobic yet captivating experience of losing one’s identity within another person. This tension is anchored by the recurring chorus, “Let me drown in this way you make me feel,” a line that oscillates between a plea for connection and a resignation to emotional dependence.
