Ecuadorian-born, Brooklyn-raised artist JRNXLST (Christian A. Guerrero) has released his most visceral work to date: “HALO.” The track is a genre-bending “gut-punch” that starts as infectious indie-pop before pivoting into a haunting, Spanish-language techno climax. Inspired by a photograph of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Guerrero moves beyond personal confession to confront global accountability.
Featuring Yuno Moodie (SubPop) on bass, “HALO” showcases the evolution of the former Bedlight for Blue Eyes frontman. Guerrero has swapped his scene-defining past for a sharper, more human mission, cultivating a loyal community through his active Discord. “HALO” is built for listeners who demand melody and meaning, asking the hauntingly central question: Do you think you’re wearing a halo?
