Sainthood Reps have teamed up with Balance and Composure for the release of their end-of-summer anthem, “Surfer,” from their upcoming album “Dull Bliss,” coming out on September 26.
The new track continues to shine a light on the band’s undeniably unique, signature genre meld of grunge, shoegaze, and post-hardcore, which seamlessly coincides with their collaborator, Balance and Composure vocalist Jon Simmons.
Speaking about the single, Sainthood Reps vocalist Derrick Sherman shares, “Jon Simmons from Balance & Composure and I have a demo-listening support group where we send riffs and full songs to each other for feedback. He is my go-to in our network. He always knows how to ignite confidence and creativity when I am feeling stuck.”
“When I was writing Surfer, I always heard someone else singing the second verse, so it only made sense to ask my demo buddy to do it. I always admired Erik from Balco’s guitar playing, so I thought it would be fun to get him in the mix as well. They both absolutely crushed it. It was one of the more fun collabs I have been a part of.”
Sainthood Reps have been known for their unique blend of grunge, post-hard, and shoegaze since the late 2000’s. After releasing Monoculture in 2011, Headswell in 2013, and a couple of singles here and there, the band spent several years pursuing other projects before eventually regrouping during COVID. Since 2022, the band has been in and out of the studio compiling new music that marks a definitive step forward without straying too far from their signature sound.
Sainthood Reps consists of Derrick Sherman, Cesco Montesanto, Bradley Cordaro, and Jani Zubkovs, with Chris Smith featuring in live performances.
