Kisu Min (Esperanto: Kiss Me), is a band founded in Łódź, Poland at the end of 2016. They play a form of alternative rock of the new pre-war era with the line-up of Basia Ciupińska (vocals, guitar, synths), Ola Sobańska (lead guitar, backing vocals), Agata Pyziak (drums, percussion), and Michał Szafarz (bass guitar, backing vocals).
The band is well-known for its commitment to social and political concerns, and their songs reflect this. Rudolf Steiner House their upcoming new album, which will be released on September 29 via Polish label Antena Krzyku, attempts to tackle the question of what would truly be healing for a world that is becoming increasingly radical and divided.
The music video for track “Je Suis” (first single off the album), was inspired by the flirty 1990s, when every band simply played and there was a lot happening on next door. “We experimented with lens work and dynamic editing after discovering an intriguing location” (the singer’s apartment). The song, on the other hand, combines chanson française inspirations with 1990s American alternative rock. The impressionistic lyrics reflect confusion in a world threatened by conflict, business, and the latest toy, artificial intelligence.
