Our Long Weekend is ByDS’ new full length Album.
It contains 9 songs which all evolve around LOVE. Bee and Diego, have been a couple for 24 years and through their music, explore their experiences together and as individuals.
When they met in their 20s they used to call their life together as partners and Artists: long weekend. They created freely, were young and had big dreams, life was light, responsibilities small. This album is an ode to their life together and the constant strive to returning to each other and the lightness its name implies. Embracing all other difficult and true emotions that come with life: fear, regret, low moments, breaking boundaries, sexual exploration, faith, reinvention of self, spiritual connection, connection with each other and fun together.
Each song strikes a chord with them. The production is personal, completely handmade, electronic beats and basses, surrounded by analog synths and guitars (electric and acoustic), where the main characters are the voices.
Influences are Latin music (Cumbia, Danzon), New Wave, UK electronic dance music (DnB) and techno. The songs have depth but are easy to listen and dance to at the same time.
ByDS is an alternative dance band based in Berlin. The project was born out of inspiration at the Fusion Festival 2015, Germany, after their final performance, with their ex-band Tanke.
ByDS has a versatile sound with an alternative Rock Pop base, with dark electronic latin fusion trip hop. ByDS is a multicultural couple that have been making music together for the last 20 years. They make an entertaining sound to listen and dance to, with lyrics in English, German and Spanish.
