Wilson Getchell is an eclectic singer-songwriter based in Raleigh, NC, best known as the front man for Thirsty Curses and The Whiskey Decision. Getchell’s music blends punk, Americana, progrock, and powerpop around engaging, thoughtful, and often humorous lyrics to form his own unique and tailored sound. Getchell’s debut solo EP,This to That dropped in October 2023, which in April 2024 was followed by the album Banned from Barflys, a tongue-in-cheek narrative about Getchell’s tumultuous years in Austin, TX, featuring the singles “NICE GIRLS”, “W/O Regret”, and “Vowels in Her Name”.
On the heels of Thirsty Curses’ fifth studio, Music is a Scam, which dropped in February 2025, Getchell released a new solo single “Monkey on My Back” in June 2025, a catchy pop punk tune about his pet monkey.
