Indie-rock veterans Superchunk have announced their 13th studio album, Songs in the Key of Yikes, due out August 22 on Merge Records. The band marked the occasion with the release of a new single, “Is It Making You Feel Something.”

The album follows 2022’s Wild Loneliness and will also feature previously released songs “Everybody Dies” and “Bruised Lung.” McCaughan is joined by longtime bandmates Laura Ballance on bass, Jim Wilbur on guitar, and drummer Laura King. Guest musicians on the record include Rosali Middleman, Bella Quinlan, Holly Thomas of Quivers, and Superchunk touring bassist Betsy Wright.

Superchunk, a pillar of the American indie scene since the early 1990s, will support the release with a string of tour dates later this year.
