“MANTAROCHEN have once again emerged from the floods and let a new cassette wash ashore. After their debut 7inch, the Leipzig-based band continue on their path with even more focus. “Cut My Brainhair” offers seven smashers plus an intro. The rhythm machine continues to pump in a straight line, while the fuzzed-out guitar cuts its way out of the dry ice fog and lies down on a comfortably warm bass waterbed. This damn coldwavy “deadpan” vocal is aimed directly at the frontal lobes again. The synthetic surfaces and effects are very present in the sound world of MANTAROCHEN anyway and round off the impression that this must simply be a lost treasure from the early 80s.”
