The Drowns Re-Issue Debut LP “View From The Bottom” Via Pirates Press Records

Fan-favorite punk rock ’n rollers The Drowns have established quite a dedicated following over the course of several albums and years of relentless touring, but their debut album View From the Bottom has been tough for fans to get ahold of for quite awhile. The band have now remedied that, and a new pressing is available NOW for pre-order via Pirates Press Records, the band’s longtime label, with a release date of March 7th.

Rather than a simple re-pressing, the entire album sounds better than ever thanks to the expert re-mastering job courtesy of legendary Seattle producer Jack Endino (NirvanaSoundgardenMurder City Devils…just to name a few)! In addition to being pressed on eye-catching 12” Marble Vinyl, the artwork has been revamped and presented in a minimalist black-on-black spot matte jacket with a metallic red foil stamped pitchfork.

With a debut album, a band generally hopes that one or two songs will stand the test of time, stick around long term, and give fans something to latch on to, relate to, and most importantly, want more of. View from the Bottom surpasses that marker handily. The Drowns came straight out of the gate guns blazing with the opening track and lead single “Eternal Debate,” which sounds just as relevant today as it did when originally recorded! In re-visiting the record, fan-favorite live set staples like the title track and buried treasures like “Faithfully, Faithless,” & “Overexposure” are just waiting to be re-discovered!

Since the initial release of this barnstorming debut LP, The Drowns have spent the last 7 years doing it their way, with the determination and drive not only to succeed, but to make music that matters. Every day, this band is grinding to bring their musical vision to life, and gaining new fans with every interaction. This is where it all started, and all of us at Pirates Press Records couldn’t be more pleased to finally make it available again to the US audience!

Following the original album closer “Darkness” is an encore of sorts in the form of a bonus track: a cover of “Satyagraha,” the opening track to hardcore punk legends 7Seconds’ monumental 1989 LP Soulforce Revolution. Articulate, vital, and aspiring for a better world, it is a fitting new coda that helps ensure that this is indeed the definitive version of the album fans already know and love.

View From the Bottom by The Drowns is available for pre-order now on 12” Happy Meal Marble Vinyl, and will be available wherever fine punk records are sold on March 7th!

While re-visiting their first album is a great opportunity to look back, The Drowns are charging hard into the future, with their ambitious, seemingly nonstop touring schedule continuing into 2025, including dates with Koffin Kats & Lower Class Brats in the midwest, southwest, and west coast USA in February, festival dates in Europe and the UK including Rebellion Festival over the summer, and an extensive tour of the UK and Ireland in September!
