The Hamar-based band Armatage Shanks is back after 12 years with their latest album, “Story Untold.”
Combining pop-punk, skate-punk, and punk-rock, the band once again delivers their distinctive and melodic punk style, which has previously resonated with loyal fans and new listeners on streaming platforms.”Story Untold” captures the soul and rawness that made Armatage Shanks a wellknown name in the punk scene over a decade ago.
After a long hiatus, original members Kristofer and Joakim reunited without the initial intention of creating a new album.
“We reconnected and rediscovered the joy of making music. It felt like picking up right where we left off, but with a fresher perspective and a new spark. The joy of being back in the rehearsal studio was immense,” they said..
Playing together again and reminiscing about old memories became a huge source of inspiration.
“At one point, we were writing a song a week,” they said.
The result was a batch of songs written in just three months, including some penned in Berlin. Realizing they had an entire album on their hands, they brought the rest of the band together, and everything fell into place!
Two months later, the band hit the studio with producer Fredrik Ryberg (known for his work with Dunderbeist and Damokles).
“Story Untold” explores themes of loneliness and lost connections, confronts the past, and looks forward with hope – “the future is fucking bright!
“The album has already received positive feedback from those who’ve had a sneak peek, promising energetic riffs and catchy melodies. “Story Untold” brings Armatage Shanks back to their roots, delighting both longtime fans and new listeners.
