Drift is thrilled to announce the release of their brand-new single, “Fade Away,” now available via Broken Jar Records. This track represents a significant evolution for the band, exploring themes of new hope, maturity, and personal transformation.
Written during a pivotal moment in frontman Callum McCombie’s life, “Fade Away” captures the essence of everything aligning—thanks to strong mental health, a supportive network, and a new relationship. It’s a heartfelt farewell to past struggles, embracing a future filled with optimism. The emotionally charged spoken-word outro brings a raw and spontaneous energy, reflecting a shift toward celebrating the positives in life.
This release marks an important chapter for Drift as they navigate a bittersweet lineup change. Engineered and mixed by Angus Ketley, mastered by Owen Penglis, and featuring drums recorded at Silver Sound Recording Studio, “Fade Away” pays tribute to the band’s journey while opening the door to new possibilities.
But that’s not all! Drift is hitting the road this November for an Australian tour. Catch them live in Sydney at Goodspace Gallery on Saturday, November 9, followed by a show in Melbourne at The Beast on Saturday, November 16, and wrapping up in Brisbane at SeasonThree on Friday, November 22.
