Pacific Northwest singer-songwriter and guitarist Searows today shares his delicate, piano led new single ‘to be seen’, lifted from his forthcoming new EP flush, due for release on Friday 22nd November via Last Recordings On Earth. The track follows the release of singles ‘toothache’ and ‘martingale’, both tender explorations of the self and the world around us, and also appearing on the forthcoming flush.

Of ‘to be seen’, Searows explains: “I wrote this song after watching the movie ‘X’. I didn’t have any intention to write a song about that movie, it just ended up seeping into all the lyrics I was writing. The song touches on the physical and emotional visibility of truly being seen by someone you love.”

flush will be Searows (the moniker of Alec Duckart)’s latest release via Last Recordings On Earth, a label launched by Matt Maltese in association with Communion Records. The EP is a collection of songs bought to life with producer Jonathan Pearce (The Beths). Having discovered his creative voice by posting gorgeous but fleeting showcases of his songwriting to TikTok, Duckart was left with dozens of minute-long expressions of unadorned songwriting that had found a cult following but were never full realised as complete songs.

With this in mind, Duckart entered the studio earlier this year along with Pearce with the aim of ‘completing’ some of the songs that touched a fervent chord with his audience several years ago, thus arriving at flush. The songs traverse feelings and experiences from different time periods, tracing interpersonal relationships with family and loved ones, self and identity and find inspiration in films such as X and I Saw The TV Glow.

Duckart’s hushed and compelling debut album, Guard Dog, was released independently, soon finding an audience that were already sharing snippets of his music via communities on TikTok. With no real expectations for where he wanted the music to land, the album was greeted fondly and received co-signs from prominent indie artists Ethel Cain and Gracie Abrams, both of whom he has since supported on tour.
