NY-based grungegaze band Glimmer has released their latest single “So Numb,” recorded in Brooklyn with Jeff Berner and mastered by Will Yip (Nothing, Title Fight, Superheaven.) You can stream the track on Spotify and Bandcamp and watch its accompanying video via Stereogum, who describes the song as having “just the right amount of slightly-blown-out fuzz.”
A follow-up to this summer’s grungy single “Homesick,” “So Numb” showcases Glimmer’s dreamier side with layers of reverb-laden guitars and blissed-out melodies. The song’s video is a hazy fever dream, filmed in one continuous shot with the band playing in slow motion.
After a packed year of releasing singles and playing live shows — including CREEM Magazine’s Summer Sunburn this August — “So Numb” is the last new track Glimmer will release before gearing up to record their debut LP in 2025. You can find the band at @glimmerisaband for additional show announcements & other updates.
