RIZTS Released New Single “Feeding the Rich”; Debut Album Out October 4th

British post-punk outfit RIZTS are return with a brand new release with the arrival of ‘Feeding the Rich’ (20th September), lifted from the upcoming self-titled album out this October through Krautpop! Records.

Following on from recent single ‘Parasite’, ‘Feeding the Rich’ was written when the album was beginning to take on a stronger shape in its concept. A few songs had already been written and RIZTS were in full swing of writing and gigging whilst introducing new material. Feeding the Rich captures the essence and showcases the strong themes of the album’s direction in its lyrical content, musicality and attitude.

Frontman Billy says: “The single is demonstrative of the new approach to songwriting we are taking. Most of the writing of the RIZTS songs for this album start with a lyrically driven social-political theme based around the meat and dairy industry. This was still the case with Feeding the Rich, but I let Noah (drums) and Connor (bass) take on a stronger creative lead in the instrumentation and sonic direction of the song. This allowed each member the freedom to do what they do best and we began to create music that was an amalgamation of our collective musical tastes and influences. Noah began to bring in drum parts and rhythms that were somewhat math rock-esque, having a strong background in both metal and jazz, whilst Connor created a balance of busy basslines and more simple, spacious passages designed to serve the song in the ideal way.”

A unique amalgamation of punk, dub, post-punk and math rock, RIZTS are a three-piece gothic-grunge project charged by vegan ideologies that submerge dark melodies into sonic chaos. Birthed from the murky waters of the Falmouth punk scene in 2019, RIZTS ha been causing pandemonium in the deep depths of Cornwall and are ready to emerge and take on the rest of the UK.

RIZTS have a reputation to deliver an unforgettable, energy-packed show, gaining them support slots for the likes of London-based Japanese Psych Rock band ‘Bo Ningen’ as well as critically acclaimed London punk duo ‘JOHN’.

The band’s debut album, ‘Burn the Witch’ was released in July 2023 and their brand new self-titled RIZTS album is coming out October 4th 2024 on Krautpop!
