Alternative rock legends Pixies have unveiled a new single titled “Oyster Beds,” offering fans a glimpse into their forthcoming studio album, The Night the Zombies Came. The track is a creative reflection of frontman Black Francis’ recent artistic endeavors, which were sparked during the band’s sessions at Rockfield Studios.
Inspired by Francis’ return to painting, “Oyster Beds” captures the imagery and themes he explored through his artwork, much of which now adorns his home. The song serves as a “laundry list” of his visual creations over the past couple of years, bringing a unique, personal touch to the band’s music.
“Oyster Beds” follows the release of “Chicken,” the first single that accompanied the announcement of The Night the Zombies Came, and continues to build anticipation for the album’s release.
