Released on July 22nd, “wishful thinking” is the glistening final single from ‘forgive too slow,’ the debut solo album from Anglo-French avant-garde Electronic artist Julia-Sophie.
“Wishful Thinking is about loving someone so deeply but realising that loving them isn’t enough. I know I’m not an easy person to be with, and loving me causes hurt, so sometimes I have to let someone go in order to stop hurting them. Once I’m alone, I’m left with the question: why is it so hard for me to love freely?” – Julia-Sophie
Following the acclaimed“numb” and “telephone“ singles, “wishful thinking” combines Julia-Sophie’s hushed and haunted vocal with pulsing and uplifting Electronics to create something that perfectly balances the sentimental with the synthetic.
Prior to beginning her career, the artist toured the US with artists like Blondie, Courtney Love, and Juliette Lewis as a founder of Little Fish, and earned millions of streams with Candy Says for songs in the films ‘Close’ and‘Burn Burn Burn.’
Julia-Sophie will play launch shows for ‘forgive too slow’ in in Oxford and London (with Maria Uzor), in addition to upcoming sets at Truck Festival and an in-store performance at Truck Music.
