Berlin-based singer/songwriter Kitty Solaris has released “Go with the Flow,” the third single from her forthcoming new album, “James Bond,” which will be released on July 19, 2024 on her own label, Solaris Empire. The accompanying Music Video was directed by Jonathan Mayer.
Kitty Solaris is a well-known Berlin singer/songwriter who finds inspiration in Sonic Youth, The Cure, The Velvet Underground, and Cat Power. She developed her own sound in her Berlin kitchen, backed by an electric guitar and gloomy melodies. Her headlines and hooklines are consistently straightforward and to the point.
Available on all digital platforms from today, June 28, 2024, “Go with the Flow” sounds similar to The War on Drugs on electronics. “The song’s idea originated in a driving school and is about conquering a fear of driving and learning to drive“, reveals Kitty Solaris before adding : “With “Go with the Flow” playing on the radio, we drive into the sunset as the moon rises over the horizon.”
The video, which Jonathan Mayer edited from footage shot on Gran Canaria, features picturesque scenery, the seashore, and a laid-back vacation vibe. “We were envisioning a young criminal who was attempting to flee their previous life. We intended to film a video featuring rides all around the island. We traveled the entire island in search of breathtaking photos; the people we encountered were incredibly friendly, and at the end of our journey, we found ourselves stranded in a hidden vacation spot with minimal tourist traffic. We got to know a former London bus driver who was relocating there. It’s the life of his dreams, he claimed. According to a thirty-year-old Indian resident, it’s the greatest spot on earth. The song also talks about pursuing your aspirations. Consider that you have already arrived.”
“James Bond” is the title of her upcoming album and it will be released on CD, Vinyl and all Digital platforms from July 19, 2024 via Solaris Empire.
