To celebrate the release of ‘Flood The Saltpans…Save The Vale’ Coastal Fire Dept. proudly release their music video for ‘Crank’.
Four songs from CFD’s recording sessions for the album ‘Outsiders’ were left over & destined to be forgotten & collect dust.
For some reason it was decided to finish them off, give them a polish & add some additional guitar grit (from Jonny Langlois).
All four songs took on a new grungy lease of life & sounded great together…and that’s how the EP ‘Flood The Saltpans…Save The Vale’ came into being.
The songs deal with topics such as anxiety, OCD, regret & confusion. All delivered in CFD’s postgrunge style.
Proudly from the Vale, CFD dream of what it would be like if the North of Guernsey was a separate isle (as it was 250 years ago) safe from the madness of modern day life; flooding the saltpans would be the start of such a plan!
‘Crank’ is the lead single from the ep which showcases CFD in a slightly harder punkier vibe still with those catchy choruses & earworms aplenty. These are the early signs of things to come.
CFD have been Influenced by US bands such as Nirvana, Balance & Composure, and Title Fight.
