Milan’s metalcore band AS WE STRAY is proud to share a new single, entitled “Open Letter” and released via Bleeding Nose Records.
“Open Letter” is a deep dive into the realm of mental health, a theme that resonates deeply in today’s society. AS WE STRAY‘s collaboration with Italian psychological entities Wabi-Sabi and Telefono Amico underlines their dedication to making a meaningful impact, addressing the critical issue of mental health with authenticity and sensitivity. This partnership brings a rare depth to the song, as it speaks of battling inner demons, brain fog, and suicidal thoughts, echoing the struggles many face.
AS WE STRAY stated about the new song: “Open Letter talks about the lowest point of our lives and what made us the way we are right now. The sad mood mixed with heavy guitars and harsh vocals perfectly defined the way we fought the demons inside our heads. We decided to partner with two anti-suicide entities to help more people dealing with brain fog and suicidal thoughts.”
AS WE STRAY is a 5 piece combining lost emotions and personal life stories in heavy riffs and melodies. After releasing the debut EP “Nothing To Lose”, the band played with the likes of Meshuggah, Soilwork, Jinjer, and At The Gates. After being forced home by the pandemic, the band came back in the studio to write new pages of its story. Coming from important musical experiences, touring attitude, and an infinite love for music in all its shades, AWS is ready to change the imprint of the modern post-hardcore.
