A reggae/dub/dancehall band from Zagreb, One Dread, started in 2007, and since then they have been performing all over Croatia and Europe, from small clubs to big festivals, but only in 2015 was a line-up formed in which TNT vocal force; Tea, Nika and Tena moved from backing vocals to the front. So far, they have mainly focused on covering the hits of roots, reggae, ska, and dub legends, but due to the pandemic, the band was forced to take a break from performing, which created extra time to work on their own material. They have played more than 400 concerts throughout Croatia and the region, and because of their specific TNT vocal section, One Dread are a unique musical group in this area.
In 2021, with the song “Remembering“, they began to give the first hints about working on their own album, in the meantime, they released two more singles and videos: “Mighty Lioness” and “Mr. Nicey Nice*“. This year everything in the studio was finished, and the new album “Rewind, Play, Repeat” (PDV067) will be released next Friday, November 10, 2023*.
Just 5 days after the release of the album, on Wednesday, November 15, a concert promotion of the album awaits us at the Vintage Industrial Bar in Zagreb, where you will be able to hear the new songs live, get the album, as well as the band’s accompanying merchandise in the form of different types t-shirts and bags.
The members of the band are: Tea Anzulović, Nika Starčević and Tena Starčević as vocalists (TNT vocal force), and four instrumentalists gathered under the name Bad Boys (Goran Egić, Borna Ivezić, Ivan Perković and Matej Smiljanić). Dr.Obi (Amplifyah music) did the mix and the album was mastered by Filip Motovunski (FM Mastering). There will be a total of eight songs on the album, including one excellent featuring (Chakka from Kali Fat Dub), while Mislav Lešić (Lord Chardak) is responsible for the graphic design of the album cover.
The new album, released by PDV Records, will be available digitally and on CD from November 10, 2023, while the vinyl will arrive at the beginning of 2024. From today pre-orders start on Bandcamp and through the PDV web shop, with special price during the pre-order period, so hurry up!
