Alternative quartet El Moono have revealed the music video for their monstrous new single ‘Chains’ (Lockjaw Records), their first material in eighteen months.
The band comment: “‘Chains’ is the riff-loaded, angry yet emotive first peek at our debut album. The track is themed around emotionally abusive relationships, and is already a mainstay of our setlists, starting mosh pits at ArcTanGent, RADAR and Burn it Down Festivals already, proving its place as a fan-favourite. Mastered by Acle Kahney from TesseracT, recorded at Middle Farm Studios, we feel ‘Chains’ is the perfect way to begin the new era.”
The single marks a new beginning for El Moono, following their highly-regarded 2022 Temple Corrupted EP (released via Lockjaw Records). Previous tours alongside Black Peaks, Haggard Cat, St Pierre Snake Invasion, and Press to MECO marked El Moono as a band to watch, well before the release of the EP which garnered notable praise from Metal Hammer, Kerrang! and Guitar World. With influences of rock, hardcore, metal and grunge, the band’s off-kilter and oftentimes mind-bending riffs, emotive songs and expressive lyricism combine to create a sound that’s difficult to pigeonhole.
