Hailing form Long Island, NY, Blood Runs Cold are creating metallic hardcore fueled by frustration. Today, the band announces their debut EP, Blood Runs Cold, set for release July 28th on DAZE and share the eponymous single “B.R.C.” Formed by brothers, guitarist Evan Perino (Separated, Missing Link) and drummer Dillon Perino (Sanction, The Fight), the two set out with vocalist Joey Chiaramonte (Koyo, Typecaste) to produce a sound that was heavier than what was currently happening in their local scene. Rounded out by guitarist Mike Marino (Sanction) and bassist Kyle Mulligan, the band took their time in the studio crafting the six heavy-hitting songs on the EP.
Describing “B.R.C.”, Chiaramonte explains it best: “‘B.R.C.’ feels like the mission statement track for the band. Aggressive, intense, hard shit that never lets up. In my mind this band’s music is supposed to be unrelenting, and this track is nonstop, unforgiving, mosh metal violence.”
The single follows “Residuals” and “Kill Yourself” which were both released as a promo this past February. You’ll find these three tracks on the EP, alongside three more that document feelings of loneliness, resentment, and mortality. Channeling bands like Buried Alive and All Out War, huge riffs, stomping breakdowns, and gnarly tones encompass the record. Blood Runs Cold was recorded and mixed by Evan Perino at Shellshock Audio and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audioseige. The band has a few scheduled New York shows this year, dates below.
