Hailing from Pittsburgh, PA, Power of Fear might be a new band, but the aggressive sound they produce is anything but amateur. The band will make their debut with A Breed Apart, set for release June 30th on DAZE, and today share their first track “Walk The Walk.” Clocking in at a minute and half, the single is a brazen beatdown song with chuggy guitars accented by chiming cymbals and guest vocals from Austin Sparkman of Boston hardcore band Buried Dreams. Most of the songs on the record focus on negative human interactions, and “Walk The Walk” criticizes those who talk hard but do nothing to back it up. You can stream the track now on Bandcamp, Spotify, and more.
Across the nine songs on A Breed Apart, Power of Fear have created a fervent and enraged sound with relatable lyrics and distinguishable mosh parts. The band draw as much from bands like Hatebreed and Cold As Life, as they do funk and jazz music which contributed heavily to forming the riffs on the album. A Breed Apart was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Shane Mayer at Cerebral Audio and will be available for pre-order later this month.
