South London’s Moreish Idols today share their much-anticipated second EP, Lock Eyes and Collide, out now on limited 12″ vinyl and digital release from Speedy Wunderground.
They also share a video for the mellow, lilting “Green Light”, the final track to be released from the Dan Carey produced EP, a further highlight with the band’s Sol Lamey saying the following on its themes: “This song is about being stuck at a crossroads and feeling your whole world come crashing down as you struggle to make a decision, longing for the green light that’ll allow you to move on.”
Of the full EP the band said: “Our new EP ‘Lock Eyes and Collide’ is born out of a shift in artistic approach. Focusing more on personal experiences and how people can change when they collide with life’s challenges.
We’ve tried to shed light on the strengths of each of our roles within the band with care and vulnerability, giving each of us a place to be heard.”
Since the start of the year Moreish Idols have released the unhinged grunge-pop of “Chum”, arch recent single “Between These Ears” and the acclaimed “Nocturnal Creatures”, a woozy slice of indie-pop that demonstrated an already tight songwriting team growing only stronger. In a recent BBC 6 Music Roundtable on Steve Lamacq’s show said single was rated a glowing 9/10 by all three guests.
The debut EP, Float, landed last year and saw international support from the likes of Stereogum, The FADER, NME, BBC 6 Music and more.
