Wolfredt To Release New Album “IIII” On April 29th Via Moment Of Collapse Records

Estonian post-rock quartet Wolfredt will release IIII, their upcoming full-length album on April 29th Moment Of Collapse Records.

“Darker music and dark and minimalistic album cover reflect the times of writing this music. COVID, war as well as the personal losses of band members have left the deep impact in these seven tracks. To achieve the sound these tracks asked for, the band reached out to mixing engineer Magnus Andre who is known from estonian doom duo Talbot and mastering engineer Magnus Lindberg from swedish legend Cult of Luna.”

Wolfredt is a progressive Post-Rock-Band from Tallinn, Estonia, led by songwriter Margus Voolpriit, who also played in Dreamphish and Pia Fraus. Voolpriit started the band around 10 years ago as a one-man project and released two albums under this concept. „Lullabies to Vilhelmine“ (2013) and „Neverno“ (2016). While working on songs for the third album, Margus realized that additional bandmembers could even be more helpful to bring more melodies, dynamics and ideas into the project. As a band now, Wolfredt finished the work on the conceptual third album „Tides“ (2020). The album got great critics and the band toured towards middle/western europe. With the progress of writing new songs more heavy and dark influences made it into the songwriting. The seven songs of the new and simply „IIII“ entitled fourth album have this typical Wolfredt sound, but go steps forward. Heavy distorted guitarlines, overlayered with multiple effects play a lot with dynamics. With decent inputs of synth and noisy parts, typical ambient elements are also present in the songs. Bass and drums round up the overall groovy aestaetics. Wolfredt follow the path of progressive post-rock, that doesn’t get lost in melodies. Their experimental and forward pushing sound is their trademark. Long Distance Calling, Tides Of Nebula and of course Russian Circles can be taken as similarities, but Wolfredt always has its own approach and sound.
