Plight Kicks Off Tour In Support Of “Plastic Sun”

Brooklyn-based four-piece Plight is kicking off a Northeast tour in support of their debut album, “Plastic Sun.”

Unknown Measures has said “Plight is a band that’s been on our radar since their start as a bit of a slowcore-shoegaze hybrid. They’ve since abandoned their jangling guitars lines for half-stacks to deliver heavy, mid-tempo anthems. The result is massive, dynamic choruses evoking the atmospheres and energy of Title Fight with power-pop sensibilities.”

Brooklyn-based four piece Plight has spent the last five years making a name for themselves in New York City, cultivating their own brand of alternative over the years. Now with their debut LP on up-and-coming imprint à La Carte Records, the sound of Plight has evolved into a concoction of chunky power-pop anthems, wall-of-sound shoegaze, and morose slowcore ballads. 

Their single, “No Outlet,” hearkens back to the classic 90’s sound honed by acts like Duster and Smashing Pumpkins mixed with the contemporary sensibilities of Title Fight and Nothing. With the single, Plight delivers a music video with footage of them that could have easily been ripped right from 120 Minutes. 

The band is venturing out on the road in support of their debut album, “Plastic Sun,” out now on à La Carte Records (Soft Kill, Lesser Care, The True Faith).
