Andead have released their new single “Emperor’s New Clothes”, featuring Dave “Brownsound” Baksh of Sum 41. The song is now available to stream on all platforms.
On a day off before a Sum 41 show in Milan, Italy in early 2020, Dave visited Andead’s recording studio as they were completing the recordings of their album “Old But Gold”. One of the songs turned out to be a perfect fit for Dave’s talent – “Emperor’s New Clothes”. A powerful and impactful track, both lyrically and musically, it is strengthened by Dave’s exceptional shredding.
Andead and Sum41 have a close relationship, dating back to 2017 when Sum 41 chose Andead as the only local opener for their European tour in Milan, Italy. The band opened for Sum 41 once again in 2018 in Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy.
The title of the song is inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s fairytale “The Emperor’s New Clothes” and symbolises the hypocrisy of certain international politicians and those who continue to support them despite their evident incompetence.
Andead will soon be releasing a vinyl version of their album “Old But Gold“, including all digital singles released from April 2020 to February 2023.
