The third single in the series “Diary 1: Hello World”, “Analog Stalker” is Laura Jinn’s latest foray into the unconscious that weaves through divergent influences as deftly as it shifts between reality and dreams. Rocking production, beset by coldwave synth and searing Fenders, express a nightmarish Hitchcockian psychothriller (with nods to FKA Twigs/Yeule) while maintaining an “intimate, humorous juxtaposition” (-RS India) emblematic of this exciting new voice.
Laura Jinn fosters a macabre sensibility with gleeful abandon to create experimental pop songs for house party fight scenes and late-night highway getaways. Combining the grandiose death-drive of her emo heroes with an irreverent genre-melting production style, Jinn’s electro-pop tracks fixate on the romance and absurdity of suburban life.
Born and raised in southern Ohio, Jinn grew up hanging out with older girls on LiveJournal and doing her homework. After emerging from the self-inflicted turbulence of her late teens and early adulthood, she started writing and producing electronic music. She released her debut EP, Sick!, a maniacal collection of goth pop chaos, in 2020. Jinn is currently based in New Orleans.
