Hypnagone Announce Qu’il Passe LP

French progressive metal band HYPNAGONE is proud to announce that its upcoming full-length album “Qu’il Passe” will be released on the 14^th of October.

Antoine Duffour, the founder of HYPNAGONE, began creating “Qu’il Passe” in January 2017, following his years of study at MAI (Music Academy International in Nancy, France). The album took five years to compose, with writing wrapping up in the spring of 2021. Subsequently, the songs had to be recorded twice for the sake of refinement and artistic vision. Consisting of 11 tracks and with a running time of over 60 minutes, “Qu’il Passe” was mixed by renowned George Lever (Sleep Token, Loathe, Monuments, etc.), and mastered by none other than Mike Kalajian (Machine Head, The Dear Hunter, Against The Current). The album is a work of catharsis linked to personal themes, notably loneliness, the fact of being lost, without landmarks, and finally, managing to accept oneself.

The artwork is a montage of several photographs taken by the bassist (and main composer) Antoine Duffour. He is really into “brutalism”, an architectural movement characterized by a massive amount of concrete and usually has very marked geometric shapes. It has a link with the theme of the album, as it is the story of a person who wakes up lost in an unknown world, where an abandoned city (portrayed as a concrete jungle) is surrounded by natural landscapes as far as the eye can see. It is a metaphor for the battle between the natural and the unnatural.
