Love Forty Down Released A New Single

Brave melodic punk rock with a clear political edge: Love Forty Down and their new EP “Don’t Be A Stranger” is the hottest iron from the punk rock forge. The song is backed by Vuki from the band Hell and Back. The single is presented by “Kein Bock Auf Nazis”.

Emerged from other bands of the scene, the combo Love Forty Down from Southern Germany exists since 2017 in the current line-up: Steffen (vocals and guitar), Niggi (vocals & drums), LöD (bass) and Dani (guitar).

Punk is political and Love Forty Down are too. They use their voices and platform as a band for political activism wherever possible. They are a member of the protest sounds network of Kein Bock Auf Nazis and part of the No Music On A Dead Planet campaign of Music Declares Emergency. Anti-fascism, environmentalism, feminism, LGBTQ rights and animal rights are at the top of their agenda and can also be found in their lyrics.

With a lot of passion and lived DIY attitude, the band released since the formation a self-titled EP in October 2018, played partly sold out shows in Germany, Austria and Hungary and a support show for US veterans Death By Stereo.

With their second EP Don’t Be A Stranger, due out in March 2022 on SBÄM Records, Love Forty Down are now stepping it up another two gears. For the seven tracks they got support on vocals from Vuki (Hell And Back) and Mobina Galore from Canada and worked for the production with Benedikt Hain.

The EP “Don’t Be A Stranger” is released 18th March 2022.

“For this song we used the famous quote from Yoda (from Star Wars): “Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate and hate leads to suffering”. Well, he is right about that. It is, in fact, a very real chain of emotions that runs constantly in people’s brains. Right-wing politicians use this phenomenon to get voters to listen to their propaganda and follow their agenda. They invent facts (e.g. that immigrants are destroying our culture) that scare people and wait for the chain reaction – very simple, but very effective. Germany has a long history with this. It’s all the more amazing that it’s still so common that we’ve called it “German Angst.””

 In addition, there is a feature of the singer Vuki of the Stuttgart band Hell And Back . Actually, no vocal feature was necessary on this song, according to the band. However, Vuki was part of a peer review group and therefore involved early in the creation process.
