Last year, the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis hit Dominik like a blow to the face, but for the Swallow’s Rose frontman there was only one conclusion: Push forward and live every day as if it were the last – as the punk anthem Live For Today impressively proves. Because we cannot live forever … so we live for today! Make the best of it! Leave nothing unsaid! Appreciate what you have! And damn it all, enjoy life while you can! In doing so, the Bavarians are supported by none other than Jason DeVore from Authority Zero.
With the accompanying video, Swallow’s Rose underline the message of the song once again emphatically! The plot: A young couple separates in a fight, but then the male protagonist gets a serious message …
The quintet from the Bavarian Forest raises an important question, that we should all ask ourselves much more often: Do we really want to part with our loved ones in an argument? Without knowing whether the careless words, that may have slipped out in the heat of the moment, were the last ones we spoke to a person? As dark and uncomfortable as this idea may be, as much as we would like to repress it – it is a daily reality for countless people and, if we are completely honest, we simply cannot be sure that it won’t also become reality for us sooner or later.
With the signal color red, which runs through the entire gloomy video, Swallow’s Rose already hint with Live For Today, where the journey with their debut follow-up Downfall takes them: Where it really hurts in parts, to cathartically rise from the ruins of their own self-reflection strengthened and courageous. The filming location of the video could hardly be more fitting: their favorite pub Rote Res in Bodenmais. In the abandoned area above the pub, sprayers can run wild – the two main characters in the video, Theresa and Janik, have already immortalized themselves there with their works of art. So, it was only logical that they do the same in Live For Today.
The debut follow-up Downfall will be released on April 8, 2022 via SBÄM Records.
